participated in a pop up workshop where we learned how to make a story board and how to create a pop up collage book using a variety of flaps, spinners and pop-up techniques.
practiced solving and creating equations with a missing addend or minuend when problem solving in math. We focused on finding the information we know when reading the problem so that we can answer the question.
familiarized ourselves with the criteria for our science presention by assessing Mme Emilie's practice presentation. We practiced encouraging classmates during science presentions and learned about different types of simple machines and how they work. We finished all of our presentations this week! Congrats!!!
welcomed M. Anderson in our classroom to help lead a discussion on how to keep positive friendships.
we had a discussion about inventions in English and started writing a plan for creating pamphlets, using the Ws and 4Ps.
we focused on the components of writing a story by brainstorm ideas first, thinking about characters, setting, plot and including an introduction, a middle/body and a conclusion in French. We talked about making our readers connect to our writing by adding interesting details and helping them visualize. We learned about partner conferences to collaborate with other students in the class to give and receive valuable feedback. We also started practicing the 3,2,1 Check it revision technique to improve our writing by 1) doing a sentence shake up, 2) word wind-up and 3) convention correction.
practiced our volleyball overhand and underhand passing skills as well as played cooperative games during P.E.
