worked on our reflections related to our STEM project. Students reflected on challenges and strengths in terms of the construction process and team work. We also wrote down which shapes we used for our construction and chose a building to calculate its perimeter in centimeters.
worked on symmetry and created tangrams in maths. We practiced describing symmetrical shapes by referring to shapes, color and angles.
worked on writing our story in French. We went to the library to take out new books in French at our reading level to read in order to write a book report.
went to Save-on-Meats to learn about a local business who gives back to the community by donating a portion of their profits to make 850 meals per day for people in need. They also explained their ''token system'' which enables patrons to buy a token for a few dollars, which can be given to a person in need who can exchange the token for a sandwich at any time. We got a tour of the kitchen and ate delicious food.
continued to observe and collect data in Science. We wrote down qualitative (such as number of germinated seeds and height) and quantitative observations (such as color, health of plants, leaves, etc). So far, both J and K seeds seem to be growing in a similar way.
discussed how to behave respectfully during literature circles for English. Each literature group has a different legend to study and each student has a role; either a summarizer, questions, writer, vocabulary finder or story mapper. When students will meet together, they will share their research and then complete a hand-out related to the legend.

took part in Keep Kits Spectacular to celebrate Earth day. We walked as a group and picked up garbage in our neighborhood!
